Ray Wilson is best known as the successor to Phil Collins, singer of the superband Genesis. He also scored with his own formation Stiltskin a number one hit with "Inside" that was featured in a spot for Levis.

In 2006, the reformed band went on an excessive tour of which this present live album originates from. An energy-laden mixture between old and new material from their current album "She". Sharp rock sounds that unfold the multi-faceted voice of Ray Wilson. The new Ray Wilson and Stiltskin Live CD was taken from the Oct 25th concert in Bonn Harmonie.

The CD has 16 tracks, lasting just under 80 minutes and includes the number 1 UK and MTV Europe hit single Inside and the top 20 single Footsteps, as well as the most recent releases Lemon Yellow Sun and She. During this tour Ray performed a 2 hour show that took him back to his rock roots. The Cut versions of Another Day, Sarah, Gypsy, and Ghost gave the Audience quite a contrast from Ray's normally more acoustic shows of recent years.

Ray states that, "It was great to get back to the sound that gave me and Stiltskin such great success in the mid nineties. I had 2 excellent guitarists on tour, Uwe Metzler and Ali Ferguson, and it allowed me to take the show to a new level." In a year when Genesis are taking to the road again, Ray feels very much at peace with the path his career is taking. Over 100 shows last year and a similar number planned for this year allows audiences all over Europe to see why Genesis picked this singer/songwriter to replace Phil Collins and why he continues to delight and entertain fans year on year.

Ex-Genesis singer returns to his roots... The 16 tracks served up by Ray Wilson and his quartet of backing players cover the gamut of Stiltskin’s work over the last decade and more. Only their No 1, Inside, stands proud as a latterday rock standard, its superb riff marking it out as much as Wilson’s creditable vocals. Elsewhere he turns his hand to Nick Cave-style brooding, as on opener Sunshine & Butterflies, or a Cobain-like rasp on Sarah. That lack of cohesion might jar the uninitiated, as the band shift from Chris Rea-style smoky blues (Gypsy), to Floydian chorale (Taking Time) and gothic rock (She). It’s all delivered in proficient fashion, with Some Of All My Fears and others adopting an urgency akin to Thin Lizzy. But little else stands out, making for an agreeable but never revelatory set.
