Given the dizzying array of solo albums released by Yes members, a compilation of their best solo work really is a splendid idea. This collection focuses on their halcyon days of the 1970s; and while one might quibble with the track selections-I'd pick "Catherine of Aragon" over "Catherine Howard, " or "Silently Falling" over "Hold Out Your Hand"-the albums themselves are well chosen and represent the high points of each member's solo output. And in a refreshing change, less acknowledged alumni like Kaye, Moraz, and Banks get their due on here. It's especially gratifying to hear the long-absent Banks getting the one 90s cut on this disc- although it would be even better to also include a sample of his 70s work with Flash or Empire.
