"Lake Placid Blues" sounds very much like "Catawalling Alley In Nice".
Apart from that the other songs on this album really sound fresh and new. It apparently does help to have good musicians involved in a project like this (see comments for "The Path Of A Decent Groove"). "Lace Placid Blues" is a worthy successor of the famous comeback album "Closer To The Truth".



Wer einen Mann wie Tony Joe White unter Vertrag hat, braucht keine anderen Künstler mehr. Der Held aus Amerikas Süden ist gut für Image, Umsatz und Entlarvung der Imitate. Auch unter den 14 neuen Songs ist kein Flop. Vielmehr liefert White ein sattes Bild seiner sumpffiebrigen Stimmungslage: mal strikt privat, mal unfaßbar relaxt, mal leicht ungeduldig, was schon das höchste an Streß bedeutet. Der Sänger schlägt mit dieser Melange alle Kopien um Lichtjahre, und auch dem letzten Vorstadtschrat müßte jetzt klar werden: nie wieder Dire Straits.
