Recorded between July 1969 - May 2014.

2CD DGMLive.com, Panegyric, Inner Knot, WHD Entertainment, Inc. KCTB14 (2014 UK)

Contains a 24 page tour booklet and two CDs containing extracts, elements from studio recordings, alternate takes, live tracks, rehearsals and finished recordings from 1969 - 2014 (much of it previously unreleased on CD).

2CD history of King Crimson featuring many extracts & tracks appearing on CD for the first time. Packaged in DVD sized fold out digi pack style book case with 24 page booklet. Originally available only at concert venues on King Crimson’s sold out Autumn 2014 US tour & as a mail order item. Much sought after by fans, hence more widespread release.

The Elements tour box was devised specifically for the recent King Crimson tour. A limited number was also made available via mail order for those who weren’t fortunate enough to live within reach of the cities covered on the US tour. It quickly sold out at the venues and the mail order stock was exhausted within days, so it’s now being given a more widespread release in the same format to prevent fans having to pay over the odds for copies on the auction sites.

The compilation provides a fascinating audio history of the band featuring extracts of the current line-up in rehearsal pre-tour, elements from studio recordings, full tracks, alternate takes, live tracks & finished recordings from 1969-2014, many of which make their first appearance on CD. Every line-up is featured across the 2CD set. The accompanying booklet features sleeve-notes by co-compiler Sid Smith, photos of memorabilia, full info about the recent tour & a number of band & individual photos of the 2014 line-up taken by Scarlet Page

The Elements of King Crimson is a box set by King Crimson. Created to promote the band's 2014 tour of the same name, it's sold exclusively through the band's merchandise booth on the tour and from the Discipline Global Mobile online stores. The box's content is less focused on actual songs and more on song "elements"; extracts of studio recordings, alternate takes, mixes with one or two instruments isolated, live recordings and rehearsals; the tour box is the first CD release for most of the tracks included. Some of them have already been released for digital download through the DGM Live website while some others are set to be included in future DGM releases; it also comes with a 24 page booklet. The box marks the first time both studio and live recorded material with Gavin Harrison is released on CD, the first time material with Jakko Jakszyk is released under the King Crimson name, and the first time material with Bill Rieflin is released overall.

Wikipedia.org

The legendary progressive rock band King Crimson is promoting its The Elements of King Crimson tour with a limited edition two-CD “tour box” set of performances — some previously unreleased on CD — from the entirety of its long, storied career.

The performances are culled from a wide variety of sources — everything from alternate takes and extracts to live recordings — from 1969 through 2014.

The work of several bassists are represented on the set, which covers a 45-year-time span. Bassists John Wetton, Peter Giles, Tony Levin, Greg Lake, Boz Burrell all appear on songs from different Crimson eras, and Levin has the low end on the The Elements of King Crimson tour.
