"Brother Stoon" is the first album of a young saxophonist who, at 24, no longer has anything of a beginner. Tribute to bop tradition, the emergence of a personal voice, openness to jazz musics, could be summarized as the process of Baptiste Herbin in this first stone to a musical edifice that looks particularly promising. The most striking thing in all this young saxophonist is probably his mind-blowing sound. Breath away because full and very powerful. Breath away mainly because it penetrates you and through you to each note.

Brother Stoon is the first album by up-and-coming 25-year-old saxophonist Baptiste Herbin, recorded in January 2011 at Studio de Meudon. Despite his youth, he has already displayed a striking and powerful technique and quality of tone. A student of Jean Jacques Rulhmann and Julien Lourau in his native Chartres and Jean Charles Richard in Paris, his music on this debut is an engaging tribute to the bop tradition. Each note will captivate listeners.
