This CD has the cover artwork reproduced directly onto the disc itself. Reissue of the 1969 album Pretties for You which was the first album by Alice Cooper. At this time, the name Alice Cooper referred to the band as well as its lead singer. The music has a psychedelic flavor to it. The group had yet to develop the more concise hard rock sound that they would become known for. The song "Reflected", Alice Cooper's first single, was later rewritten as "Elected" (which featured on their 1973 album Billion Dollar Babies).



Alice Cooper's debut album reflected none of his legendary, grotesque hard rock; instead, Pretties for You was an earnest but flawed stab at psychedelia that occasionally caught fire.

Levity Ball (Live At the Cheetah)

I got my invitation to the annual levity ball
Seeing the location is within the mirrored room
Walking in my room I found I had nothing to find
I got into my evening wear and left my clothes behind
I sat down at the stairway seven hours at a time
Writing all of this poetry that I knew would never rhyme
The memory I know I must have had when I came in
Was of some place I'd never ever been
And then in came a cake all decorated in my name
With four paper brown candles are all spelling out this name
The clock was passing out from time to time
I saw it all at the beginning of the ending of my first levity ball
