1999 CD Angel 56769
1999 CS Angel 56769B
1998 outing from the sensational English Broadway diva. Featuring the
English National Orchestra & the Oxford College Choir, the album
contains 15 tracks, including a gentle rendition of Celine Dion's
'Titanic' smash 'My Heart Will Go On' sung in Italian under the name
'Il Mio Cuore Va'and two less expected covers from two very different
bands, Hooverphonic's 'Eden' from their 1998 album 'Blue Wonder Power
Milk' & Kansas' top 10 1977 smash 'Dust In The Wind' off their
album 'Point Of Know Return'. An EastWest release. The U.S. is
tentatively scheduled for May, 1999.
Album Description, Amazon.com
Sarah Brightman's 1999 release Eden applies her rich, supple voice to
16 tracks that range from classical to pop to haunting ballads. The
album features "Il Mio Cuore Va," Titanic's "My Heart Will Go On" sung
in Italian; "Scene D' Amour," the theme from The English Patient; and
"Nessun Dorma" from Puccini's Turandot. Brightman's pop side emerges
with tracks like "Dust in the Wind" and the Richard Marx-written and
produced "The Last Words You Said." Eden's wide range and Brightman's
beautiful voice are a winning combination.

Titanic und The English Patient entlang.
jede einzelne Melodie erhellt. Das Ergebnis ist vielleicht die
Schaffung einer völlig neuen Form von Kitsch. Gleich einer
Schönheitsoperation hat das jahrelange Stimmtraining ihre
Fähigkeit perfektioniert, in abgerundeten, sprühenden

This CD has a nice variety of different kinds of songs, but they are
not too different: the songs fit together, I think, making it quite a
good CD. Some songs a little pop-like, mainly the songs in English.
Other songs are more opera-like, as the songs on Timeless / Time to say
goodbye. But on the whole the CD is neither too pop-like not too
opera-like for me, with some very nice songs -- I really like Dust in
the wind and So many things, but also the title song, Il mio cuore va
and Tu sound really great. After hearing the CD several times I have to
say that the non-English songs are better than the English songs; the
latter are a bit too flat and popular to really last. All in all I
think this is certainly a good CD and Sarah's voice sounds once again
wonderful! But "Eden" has for me not the strength of Sarah's earlier
CDs The song that got away and Surrender, The unexpected songs -- the
musical style of these CDs is more to my liking (and that is not just
because those CDs where the first of Sarah I had: it has to do with the
style of music and singing). Though I have to admit: the more often I
hear Eden, the more I like it, especially after a One night in Eden
concert as part of Sarah's 1999 World Tour, and the video of the
concert.
In a letter from the Sarah Brightman Fan Club it says:
October saw the completion of Sarah's new album called "EDEN". Of the
two dozen tracks recorded, fifteen have been selected to appear on the
final cut. Makes you wonder which other songs were recorded and why
those were not selected. There could have been more songs on the CD:
there was room for another 17 minutes or so of beautiful music and
singing .... Irritatingly enough the non-European versions of Eden have
extra songs; why are these not on the European version ???
Requiem aeternam dona eis.
Domine, et lux perpetua,
Requiem aeternam,
Aeternam dona eis.
Perpetua luceat [eis].

Dona eis requiem sempiternam.
In Paradisum.

In Paradisum.
EDEN
Did you ever think of me,
As your best friend.
Did I ever think of you,
I'm not complaining.
I never tried to feel.
I never tried to feel.
This vibration.
I never tried to reach.
I never tried to reach.
Your eden.
(Your eden. Your eden.)
Did I ever think of you,
As my enemy.
Did you ever think of me,
I'm complaining.
I never tried to feel.
I never tried to feel.
This vibration.
I never tried to reach.
I never tried to reach.
Your eden.
(Your eden. Your eden.)
I never tried to feel.
I never tried to ...
(Your eden.)
SO MANY THINGS
And so many things I'd forgotten,
In a world that we shared,
With so many things for the asking.
Never asked for the madness there.
Strange how I find myself
So often on a distant shore.
There's only one thing that's confusing.
Was it you? Was it me?
With so many questions unanswered
Or was that part of your mystery?
Strange how I find myself
So often on a distant shore.
So many things I'd forgotten.
So many things for the asking.
Strange how I find myself
So often on a distant shore.
How I find myself
So often on a distant shore.
ANYTIME, ANYWHERE
Strade son' cambiate.
Faccie son' diverse.
Era la mia città.
Non la conosco più.
La ora io sono solo un' estranea
Senza patria.
I remember you were there.
Any one emotion.
Any true devotion.
Anytime, anywhere.
Case son' cambiate.
Voci son' diverse.
Era la mia città.
Non la conosco più.
La ora io sono solo un' estranea
Senza patria.
I remember you were there.
Any one emotion.
Any true devotion.
Anytime, anywhere.
Tanti, anni son' passati.
Vite son' cambiate.
Era la mia città.
Non la conosco più.
E ora io sono solo un' estranea
Senza patria.

DUST IN THE WIND
I close my eyes, only for a moment and the moment's gone.
All my dreams pass before my eyes in curiosity.
Dust in the wind.
All they are is dust in the wind.
Same old song.
Just a drop of water in an endless sea.
All we do crumbles to the ground, though we refuse to see.
Dust in the wind.
All we are is dust in the wind.
Don't hang on, nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky.
It slips away and all your money won't another minute buy.
Dust in the wind.
All we are is dust in the wind.
Dust in the wind.
Everything is dust in the wind.
IL MIO CUORE VA
Ogni notte in sogno,
Ti vedo, ti sento,
E cosi io so che ci sei.
Tu, da spazi immensi,
Da grandi distanze,
Sei venuta e so che ci sei.
Qui, la, dovunque sarai,
Sento forte il mio cuore che va.
Ancor la porta aprirai,
Per entrar nel mio cuore,
E il cuore mio va e va.
Per, la nostra vita,
Vivrà questo amore,
Se seremo insieme io e te.
Io ti ro sempre amata, ti fo,
Stretta dauvero e vivra
Per sempre il mio amor.
Qui, la, dovunque sarai,
Sento forte il mio cuore che va.
Ancor la porta aprirai
Per entrar nel mio cuore,
E il cuore mio va e va.
Sei qui, paura non ho,
Sente che batte forte il mio cuor.
Sarà per sempre cosi ti,
Protegge il mio cuore,
E il cuore mio va e va.
DELIVER ME
Deliver me, out of my sadness.
Deliver me, from all of the madness.
Deliver me, courage to guide me.
Deliver me, strength from inside me.
All of my life I've been in hiding.
Wishing there was someone just like you.
Now that you're here, now that I've found you,
I know that you're the one to pull me through.
Deliver me, loving and caring.
Deliver me, giving and sharing.
Deliver me, the cross that I'm bearing.
All of my life I was in hiding.
Wishing there was someone just like you.
Now that you're here, now that I've found you,
I know that you're the one to pull me through.
Deliver me,
Deliver me,
Oh deliver me.
All of my life I was in hiding.
Wishing there was someone just like you.
Now that you're here, now that I've found you,
I know that you're the one to pull me through.
Deliver me,
Oh deliver me.
Won't you deliver me.
UN JOUR IL VIENDRA
Un jour il viendra.
Mon bel amour d'hier
L'amour reviendra
Par un jour de lumière.
Dans les heures qui viennent.
Ou bien l'année prochaine
Peu m'importe j'attends,
Car c'est l'homme que j'aime.
Et je l'attendrai mème plus longtemps.
Un jour il viendra,
Mon bel amour d'hier.
Et demain l'amour renaîtra.
Un beau jour de lumière.
Le bonheur suprème.
Et les nuits qui sénchainent.
Une a une longtemps.
Dans les heures qui viennent.
Ou bien l'année prochaine.
Je l'attends.
Un jour il viendra.
Mon bel amour d'hier.
L'amour reviendra
Par un jour de lumière.
Si c'est un rêve.
Faites qu'il dure encore,
Oh mon rêve.
Faites qu'il dure encore.
Un jour il viendra.
Mon bel amour d'hier.
L'amour reviendra
Par un jour de lumière.
Si c'est un rêve.
Faites qu'il dure encore,
Oh mon rêve.
Faites qu'il dure encore,
Un jour.
NELLA FANTASIA
Nella fantasia io vedo un mondo giusto,
Li tutti vivono in pace e in onestà.
Pien' d'umanità in fondo all'anima.
Pien' d'umanità in fondo all'anima.
TÚ
Tú, sin más porqué,
Tú que bésame,
Tú me tienes de furriel,
De un roto de tu piel.
Tú, como la cal,
Que húmeda es mortal,
Tú, blanqueas mi razón,
Calando hasta el colchón.
Tú, tú, tú, tú.
Tú, tú, tú, tú.
Tú, tú, tú, montada en mí,
Yo, motura hostil,
Tú, me abrazas con los pies,
Y yo lamo el arnés.
Tú, y sin ti yo no.
Tú, y sin ti ya no.
Tú, me has hecho dimitir,
ONLY AN OCEAN AWAY
I see a shadow every day and night.
I walk a hundred streets of neon lights,
Only when I'm crying.
Can you hear me crying.
So many times you always wanted more,
Chasing illusions that you're longing for.
Wish I wasn't crying.
Can you hear me crying.
There's an ocean between us.
You know where to find me.
You reach out and touch me.
I feel you in my own heart.
More than a lifetime.
Still goes on forever.
But it helps to remember
You're only an ocean away.
Was there a moment when I felt no pain.
I want to feel it in my life again.
Let it be over now.
Oh Oh over now.
'Cause I remember all the days and nights
We used to walk the streets of neon lights
Oh I want you here with me.
Oh be here with me.
There's an ocean between us.
You know where to find me.
You reach out and touch me.
I feel you in my own heart.
More than a lifetime
Still goes on forever.
But it helps to remember
You're only an ocean away.
So many times you always wanted more,
Chasing illusions that you're longing for.
Wish I wasn't crying.
Can you hear me crying.
There's an ocean between us.
You know where to find me.
Just reach out and touch me.
I feel you in my own heart.
More than a lifetime
It seems like forever.
But I'll always remember
You're only an ocean away.
Only an ocean away.
SCÉNE D'AMOUR
Song does not have words.
NESSUN DORMA
Nessun dorma!
Nessun dorma!
Tu pure, o Principe,
No, no, sulla tua bocca lo dirò,
Quando la luce splenderà!
Ed il mio bacio scioglierà.
Il silenzio che ti fa mio!
[Choir:]
Il nome suo nessun saprà!
E noi dovrem ahimè morir, morir!
Dilegua o notte!
Tramontate, stelle!
Tramontate, stelle!
All' alba vincerò!
Vincerò! Vincerò!
