This selections offers original recordings of the best known and most frequently played music of the Communist labour movement.
The tunes of the marches, once so often sung, evoke the atmosphere of the old rallies, whereas the songs of young Communists, the _pioneers", bring back memories for many from their childhood in the 50s, 60s, 70s or 80s.
The cover photographs were taken at the Budapest Statue Park Museum, where giant monuments to the cultural policies of the Communist era are on display.
