CD 1995 Blackbird Records

Recorded at December 18th 1994 at Blackbird Studio Berlin.

"He owns an important part of jazz" wrote the Süddeutsche Zeitung (ak.German Newspaper). Martin Schmitt is a genius in combining his ideas with already existing forms of music performance and standards of Boogie & Blues. He interprets old Masters of Blues instead of copying them."Five Feet & the Blues" is Martin Schmitt's second album, succeding the career which started out with "Handfull Of Blues". His spontaneity, his complete fusion with music are the symbols for this young Jazz Artist. Once again he knows to inspire the audience with his latest CD, and let them feel that Blues comes from inside. In his own compositions Martin Schmitt plays intersting modulations, and they go far better the ordinary blues scales. With his dark smoky voice, full of gentle intensity, he spellbinds all.
