With his latest studio album Close As You Get, Gary Moore continues in a direction not too dissimilar from his 2006 studio release Old, New, Ballads, Blues. Mixing original tunes with some interesting Blues covers that Gary has rediscovered, Close As You Get showcases Moore's exceptional talent as a guitarist and is destined to be one of the finest blues and guitar albums released this year. Gary Moore is acknowledged as one of the finest musicians that the British Isles has ever produced. In a career that dates back to the 1960s, there are few musical genres that he has not turned his adroit musical hand to, and has graced the line-ups of several notable rock bands, Thin Lizzy, Colosseum II and Skid Row to name but three.

Egal ob John Mayalls "Have You Heard", Swain/Royces "Evenin´" (das schon Led Zeppelin inspirierte), die Sonny-Boy-Williamson-Hits "Eyesight To The Blind" (bekannt geworden durch die Interpretation von The Who) und "Checkin´ Up On My Baby" oder Chuck Berrys saftiger Rock´n´Roller "Thirty Days" - Moore veredelt jede Nummer mit ausdrucksstarkem Gesang, gut abgehangenem Riffing und grandiosen, rauen Soli.

"The result is Moore's most solid blues outing in several years.....A solid example of blues-rock done right."

If the Devil made Whisky

If the devil made whisky,
he must have made my woman too.
If the devil made whisky,
he must have made my baby too.
Cause they both make you love 'em,
then they make a fool of you.
Yeah.

If the devil made money,
he must have made my girl as well.
Ooh, if the devil made money,
he must have made my girl as well.
Cause they get a man in trouble,
then they send you straight to hell.
Yeah.

If the devil was a woman,
he'd look exactly like my girl.
Ooh, if the devil was a woman,
he'd look exactly like my girl.
She get you hooked on her good lovin',
then leavy you lonely in this world.

I Had A Dream

I, had a dream
That you,were my Queen
And I, was your King
In the shadows of love

No one could see
How close, we would be
Two lovers, you and me
In the shadows of love

I was a fool
To play by the rules
And I was a fool
To let you go

Oh through the night
When I held you so tight
Till the first morning light
But my eyes were closed

I, had a dream
That you, were my Queen
And I, was your King
In the shadows of love
