Fortunately the same was not true on their second release, Head Injuries (great title). From start to finish this is a stoked and smokin' piece of punk-inspired hard rock with Garrett wailing away as though his life depended on it. Furious, relentless, chocked to the brim with solid songs and fierce playing, Head Injuries is hands-down the best of the Oil's early output.

Hervorragend... ist das zweite Album der Australier zu nennen - ein Beweis, daß der überragende selbstbetiltelte Erstling kein Zufall war. Wie auf 'Midnight Oil' wird hier vor allem geradeaus hart gerockt. So stehen einige Nummern ('No reaction' und 'Back on the Borderline') ganz in der Tradition des Debuts. Andere Titel ('Koala Sprint') überraschen aber auch mit komplexeren Strukturen. Die Produktion ist sehr gut, wikt rauh - ungeschliffen und durchdacht zugleich. Wer auf den Erstling und auf das vor zwei Jahren veröffentlichte 'Redneck..'- Album steht, sollte hier sofort zugreifen. Ein schönes Teil!!!
