This is a great solo work from Dave. The CD puts Gary Moore to shame. If you are a Y&T fan or blues fan this CD is for you. Not only is Dave a great Musician, but he also has a great voice.

On The Blue Side features the incredible guitar stylings of former Y&T frontman Dave Meniketti on an album of blues/rock material delivered straight from the gut. The twelve cuts range from near brilliant to simply astonishing -- this is one guitarist with more soul and talent than most guitarists could ever hope to aspire to. Meniketti puts all 25 years of playing experience into every note -- witness the Gary Moore-like, slow blues instrumentals such as "Until Next Time" or "Say Goodbye", or the dynamite vocal number "Take It Live A Man" -- On The Blue Side expresses some of the most passionate and intense playing and singing that Dave has ever committed to tape or live performance. Blues/Rock, total running time, 63:22

Who's Who . . .

Myron Dove is a very popular San Francisco Bay Area bass player whose versatility and killer chops have made him a sought after artist. He has performed and/or recorded with Santana, Robben Ford, Clarence Gatemouth Brown, Narada Michael Walden, Herbie Hancock, Angela Bofill, Buddy Guy, Vince Gill, Wayne Shorter, Amy Grant, John Lee Hooker, Jeffrey Osborne, Boz Scaggs, Steve Winwood, Stevie Wonder, Rodney Franklin, Ronnie Montrose, Tony Williams, Mark Russo, Patti Austin, Al Jarreau, Philip Bailey, Lisa Fischer, and many more artists.

Chris Miller - Chris is a groove machine who, coincidentally, lives just down the street from Dave in the San Jose area. Along with being a well known accomplished rock drummer in the Northern California area, Chris has played with R&B legend Billy Preston & more recently been honing his vast knowledge of complex rhythms by playing & touring the US & Africa with major African artists such as Pepe Kalle, Rigo Star & Samba Ngo. He has written a series of instructional drum booklets & is also a talented keyboard player/songwriter. His songs have appeared on TV shows including The Drew Carey Show, Homicide, Jag, HBO's Sex in The City, etc. Chris plays with a "punchy" black Yamaha kit.

Ron Wikso is a Southern California drummer who has toured & recorded with many popular groups, including Foreigner, The Storm, David Lee Roth, and Cher. Ron is a groove machine and really knows how to craft the best rhythm for each song. He endorses Sonor Drums, Zildjian Cymbals, Rimshot Drumsticks, and Remo Drumheads.

Jimmy DeGrasso - Jimmy is a very accomplished drummer who plays with intensity and has mastered many different styles of drumming. In addition to drumming with Dave in Y&T since 1986, Jimmy has also toured and/or recorded with Alice Cooper, Suicidal Tendancies, Megadeth, and MD45 (Dave Mustaine) & Y&T guitarist Stef Burns.

John Seppala is a wizard keyboard player from the San Francisco Bay Area. Since childhood, John has been playing and writing jazz, rock and fusion. He attended the Berkelee School of Music in Boston and lived on the East Coast for 10 years, working with producer Arif Mardin, and making numerous recordings for Atlantic and Modern Records. He has played on albums by Lenny Williams of Tower Of Power, Stef Burns, Jeff Berlin, Foghat, and many others.

Joe Heinemann - A popular San Francisco keyboardist who has performed with many music greats including Quincy Jones, Robben Ford, Robert Cray, Narada Michael Walden, Patty Austin, James Ingram, Eddie Harris, Archie Shepp, and more. Joe has recorded with varied artists like Steve Miller, Ronnie Montrose, John Fahey, Curtis Salgado, and others.

Mark Stanford "was" a Bay Area jazz musician who had played saxophone and keyboards with such jazz legends as bassist Ray Brown, Dizzy Gillspie, Joe Pass, and Buddy Rich, and had recorded with many artists, including pianist Jaki Byard of the Charles Mingus group. Now he is "Tak Kesil", an alien entity from the Orion star system! So one could say that while Dave hasn't surfed with an alien, he has, instead, "played with an Alien".
