1995 CD RCA Anxious 17552
1998 CD BMG International 31755

Just recently released stateside, this club-ready track, produced by DJ-turned-super-producer David Morales, has been topping all of the dance charts across Europe. Now the foursome is ready to wreak havoc on the U.S. with their classy dance jam that shows club music can contain genuine soul. The Billy Ocean-like vocals and polished contemporary beat really give this cut a soulful edge.

The latest export in the new British soul renaissance, which brought us artists like the Chimes, Lisa Stansfield and Soul II Soul, is the four-man musical collective of George Chandler, Jimmy Chambers, Jimmy Helms and Willy M. - a.k.a. Londonbeat. Although the group is based in the U.K., the group's members come from the U.S., England and Trinidad, which gives them a wealth of styles and influences. Their second LP, In The Blood (their first LP, Speak, was never released stateside), captures a sense of traditional soul through rich, seamless multi-layered harmonies ("A Better Love," "It's In The Blood," "She Broke My Heart (In 36 Places)") that are spread over warm, heartfelt pop melodies and brightly produced rhythms. Their first single, "I've Been Thinking About You," has topped dance charts all over Europe with its steady pop/house groove while other tracks on In The Blood are stylistically ingenious, giving listeners a better understanding of the group's talent-which goes deeper than your average brainless club hit. The first half of the album sticks to more danceoriented songs that are more vocally impressive than rhythmically challenging, while there's an interesting soulful reworking of Bob Marley's "No Woman No Cry." Deeper into the album, the group presents harder/funkier cuts like "She Said She Loves Me." By the end, tender pop ballads are delivered with soft harmonies and sweeping soundscapes. Listen to "Crying In The Rain" with its weeping dolphin samples and the acoustic "This Is Your Life," both of which help put Londonbeat atop the new breed of soul music.

I've Been Thinking About You

Hey...my my

You must have been stone crazy,
And we thought we were just friends.
'Cause I miss you baby,
And I got those feelings again.

I guess I'm all confused 'bout you,
I feel, so in love, oh baby, what can I do?

I've been thinking about you,
I've been thinking about you,
I've been thinking about you,
I've been thinking about you. My my.

It's hard to be with strangers,
I watch you, walkin' away.
She was my one temtation,
But I did not want her to stay.

Deep down Im so confused about you,
Oh yes I am baby.
I feel, so in love, oh baby, what can I do?

I've been thinking about you,
I've been thinking about you,
I've been thinking about you,
I've been thinking about you. My my.

(Guitar Break)

My my...hey

How good is being here without you?
I wanna know.
I feel so in love baby, what can I do?

I've been thinking about you,
I've been thinking about you,
I've been thinking about you,
I've been thinking about you.

A Better Love

I remember how
the sun came shining through the trees
made shadows on the road
I was driving home
the morning after with the taste of you
still on my tongue

You are my safety zone
I live and breathe in you

I'll never find a better love not in a minute
I'll never find a better love not in a minute
never a better love never a better love

On the harbour bridge
the rain was gently falling down
on a lazy summer day
your face appeared
there on my windscreen
you smiled and slipped away

You are my safetly zone
I live and breathe in you

I'll never find a better love not in a minute
I'll never find a better love not in a minute
never a better love never a better love

Come Back

Come back, you know I miss you
Got to hold you once again
In my life...

It's late, It's quiet
A taxi waits at the door
Footsteps, a door slam
What's going on, it's quarter to four

(Chorus)
So many times, so many fears
So many words unspoken
So many doubts, so many fears
So many hearts are broken
Cause I'm lonely and I miss you tonight
Go to hold you again in my life
Cause I'm lonely and I need you tonight
Go to hold you again in my life

The phone keeps ringing
Are you there with a friend
I call back, it's busy
I hang up and try once again

(Chorus times 2)
Love you, miss you, need you, want you back in my life
Come back, baby come back
Love you, miss you, need you, want you back in my life
Come back, baby come back
Love you, miss you, need you, want you back in my life
Take a boat, take a train, take an aeroplane
Love you, miss you, need you, want you back in my life
