128 tracks... this 4CD set shows time and again that no white boy ever rocked or rolled with more predatory abandon than ol’ Jerry Lee. ★★★★'

Q MAGAZINE

"Time has not diminished the intensity of Jerry Lee's primal Sun studio originals....Fire and brimstone tablets from Rock Mountain."

Uncut (p.85) - 5 stars out of 5

"Die vorliegende Werkschau mit 128 zweiminütigen Meisterwerken aus 1957 bis '63 krönt Jerry Lee Lewis zum Imperator - und zwar nicht nur des Rock'n'Roll. Jerry sang sogar seinen einstigen Sun-Label- Kollegen Elvis Presley gnadenlos gegen die Studiowand."

W. Dulisch - stereoplay 2/07

One of the few serious contenders to Elvis’ title of the King of Rock’n’Roll, Jerry Lee Lewis made some of his finest recordings during his early years with Sun Records. Whilst there he recorded prolifically, encompassing the diverse musical styles - among them country, gospel, blues, hillbilly and R&B - which he had grown up listening to.

This deluxe 4-CD set presents the cream of Lewis’ peerless recordings made for Sun Records between 1956 and 1963 when he was at his creative peak. These 128 cuts from ‘The Killer’ changed the face of both Rock’n’Roll and country music.

Each of the set’s four themed discs has been meticulously compiled and sequenced, and the four are split into contrasting musical genres to provide listening variety.  Discs One and Two feature a selection of scorching Rock’n’Roll sides contrasted with country classics, whilst Disc Three concentrates on Lewis’ country side and includes, both rockers and ballads. The final disc comprises R&B standards and a pot pourri of other musical styles.

The 36-page, illustrated booklet contains a detailed biography of Lewis’ career to date along with an illuminating track-by-track commentary from compiler Clive Anderson.
