Third time up for sightless guitar wunderkid Jeff Healey and gang; Feel This offers the power trio's meatiest and most satisfying outing. JHB's brand of roadhouse rock can be somewhat bland on disc; here the group captures much more of its trademark live intensity than in the past. The unobtrusive addition of keyboards adds a more expansive dimension to several tracks. Boogie fans will want to check out the ZZ Top-like "Cruel Little Number"; blues-rockers will come away satisfied with the likes of "House That Love Built." Hip-hop connoisseurs, on the other hand, will likely want to avoid JHB's rap spoof on "If You Can't Feel Anything Else."

Markenzeichen bleibt (so in Baby's Lookin' Hot) die schneidige Gitarre des 26jährigen aus Toronto. Und Vielfalt ist Trumpf - von der sämigen Ballade You're Coming Home über das angerappte If You Can't Feel Anything Else bis zum harmonischen Sixties-Remake Dreams Of Love und dem wilden Rhythm & Blues Evil And Here To Stay. Nur die oft verwaschene Produktion nimmt einiges an Drive.

Zusammen mit dem Tontechniker Joe Hardy hat die Jeff Healey Band ihr drittes Album produziert und das Gros der 14 Songs auch selbst ge- schrieben. Fast über die ganze Laufzeit der CD bläst ein mächtiger Gitarrensound aus den Lautsprechern, der alleine macht allerdings noch keine gute Platte. Bemerkenswert in Komposition und/oder Interpretation gerieten "Leave The Light On", die akustische Ballade "You're Coming Home" sowie eine Hendrix-Hommage mit Rap-Einlage, "If You Can't Feel Anything Else." ** Interpret.: 06-08
