The Delta is a Side-Project of X-Dream artist M. Maichel.
A full on album that hits the dancefloor... and it is one of the best.
Style: Trance
"Scizoeffective", the first album of The Delta, a side-project of the
famous trance act X-Dream, takes the psy trance scene by surprise and
constitutes probably one of the most enjoyable trance CD ever, seen
from the industrial corner. On, this album, Marcus Maichel uses the
flow and melodies of trance, a genre in which he excels, but spices
them with "darker" samples (choirs, orchestral interludes, guitar
riffs). The whole thing, void of the "happy-happy" samples that plague
normal trance, is very catchy and really stomping at the same time.
Quite close to what Astral Projection can offer, the loops are very
catchy and the music is very well done, combining a lot of different
layers coming in the forefront one after the other. The tempo is fast,
the beats are relatively heavy, you have everything here to make a very
efficient trance record. The songs are rather diverse, ranging from the
dark epic "Thing" to the very fast "Travelling at the speed of thought"
to the more industrial stomping "Supercell". Executed by a master of
the genre, this CD is a must if you're into trance, and for sure
something good for the open minded industrialists, who will find here
an excellent trance CD with a mood closer to their tastes.
