This single disc does a nice job of representing the best of Miles' early years as a bandleader with Blue Note. Backed with the talent of such prime players as Lee Konitz, Jackie McLean and Art Blakey, these combos really cook. From the hot bop of "Move" to the romance of "Enigma," this is jazz with meat on its bones.
