Shine is the second album released by the classical crossover string quartet Bond. It peaked at No. 26 in the UK album charts and went Gold in six countries and it also spent five consecutive weeks in the US Classical Crossover charts. Bond have described it as an "ethnic" album.



Bond ist das erfolgreichste Streichquartett aller Zeiten, doch sensationell attraktiv sind in erster Linie die Damen, die in die Saiten greifen. Das Booklet sorgt für die richtigen Assoziationen: Haylie, die erste Geige, lässt sich vom einem Schmetterling bekrabbeln, Eos, die zweite, räkelt sich auf einem Schimmel, Tania hält zwei Tiger an der Hundeleine, und Gay-Yee, das Cello, bespringt ein Motorrad. Fehlt die Augenmusik, bleiben nur recht gewöhnliche Elektropop-Klänge mit starkem, einfältig arrangiertem Streicheranteil übrig, bei dem sich die Damen nicht überarbeiten. Auch das Aroma einiger als "Chillout" bezeichneter Titel, die mit einem Mix aus arabischen, asiatischen und irischen Einflüssen den globalen Anspruch unterstreichen sollen, duftet letztlich nur nach Hausmannskost.
