A wonderful record from this enigmatic European guitarist -- arguably
his greatest ever, and darn hard to find until this CD was reissued!
The record features Bacsik in a group that includes Guy Pederson on
bass and Daniel Humair on drums, plus some excellent occasional organ
work by Maurice Vander. The tracks have a great soul jazz feel to them
-- with a focus on Bacsik's extremely unique tone, and his jagged way
of working the strings with a rich palette of harmonic colors. Titles
include "Conception", "Loin Du Bresil", "La Saison Des Pluies",
"Gemini", "Room 608", and "Goodbye". Wonderful sound -- and a real lost
gem of European jazz!
